The Introduction and Preface are here for you to read. The book includes useful addresses world-wide, a step-by-step massage sequence, and a therapeutic chart of thirty-seven appropriate essential oils at the end. It makes an excellent gift or an inexpensive purchase for parents-to-be at an expensive time in their lives. The book is published in English and Japanese editions.
INTRODUCTION by Dr. Susan M. Horsewood-Lee, MB, BS, MRCGP, Chelsea, London:
This clear and well-researched book introduces the reader to the philosophy of aromatherapy as a way of life in a professionally caring and sincere way. It describes how parental awareness of the role of essential oils and massage in family health is the greatest gift to their unborn child. Pregnancy is taken as an opportunity to focus on the role of the mother and father in caring for their own health and that of the baby. Aromatherapy During Your Pregnancy enables us to understand how to realise our full potential as human beings, physically and spiritually, through the language of essential oils. This book deserves to become a favourite guide to good health for the whole family.
PREFACE by Frances R. Clifford, Harley Street, London:
The inspiration to write this book came from questions asked over many years from pregnant women, midwives, nurses and other healthcare professionals as I lectured, practised and dispensed my way through life. It has always been a joy and privilege to share in ante-natal work, especially at such a deeply personal time. I have revelled in becoming an Aromatic Auntie and then continuing with the neo-natal care. The chapters that follow should dispel many doubts about the use of aromatherapy, and, as with all things in life, use in moderation, and with your medical practitioner's full sanction. Many years of practice and patients have contributed to the content. To them all, I give my warmest thanks.
